Margaret Boler

Margaret Boler

Maggie Boler is entering her twenty-first year here at St. Matthew Parish School. She started as a sixth grade teacher and has been the eighth grade homeroom and Junior High English & Language Arts teacher for the last seventeen years. She has an undergraduate degree from Illinois State University. She began her teaching career as a second grade teacher, but has truly found her passion in the Junior High. She is involved in many committees here at St. Matthew including PBIS, Authentic Learning Community, PLC Leader, and last year received the “Core Values Faculty Award” from the Catholic School’s Office.

This is a faculty nominated award that means even more to her because it was voted on by her peers.  One of her proudest moments was being involved with her eighth graders 2 years ago along with Mrs. McCoy in bringing Chromebooks into the Junior High. Her students planned and implemented thirty Chromebooks and a charging cart into the school that is being used non-stop in the Junior High this year.

It has brought such wonderful projects and learning that the students are truly engaged and motivated.  She has been in Catholic education her whole life and has never wanted to be anywhere else. She feels blessed to be called to this vocation. “When you love your job, it isn’t called work!”
